Does it feel like you're standing on the edge of a precipice? So it’s not just us, right? In communications and design, it’s like a greater being (Yoda perhaps) has thrown all the cards up in the air, and we’re collectively holding our breath waiting for them to land.

AI has been messing around in the playground up until now, and now AI’s mum just walked in, slammed the gate and told us she’s in charge. Okay, so AI’s not quite at parent level yet, but you can really feel it shift past novelty and start to take hold intellectually and systemically.

In communications and marketing there is about to be a fundamental shift in the way the large holding companies and the agencies under their umbrella deliver services. Content-as-a-service (CaaS) is the one thing that springs to mind. 

As with all change, an organisation’s capacity to take up innovative tech depends on their willingness, size, budget and strategic frameworks that support positive change.  As a small design agency, our clients are scattered well across this AI-ready spectrum.

With a hectic 2025 almost over, we thought we should reflect a little and how we can approach the changes we look for and the changes that just arrive.

Studio Veld’s values* are:

We’ll be using these values to help us navigate whatever 2026 has for us. Always measuring actions and opportunities against them. They’ve been a great yardstick for making decisions so far.
