Good tech feels good and works smoothly. Great tech is invisible.

Working behind the scenes to deliver a seamless experience. Great tech steps out of the way so you can focus on your people - your team, your customers, your community.

Craft CMS is the great tech we get to play with every day and we're excited about where it's heading. It remains a smart, stable choice for organisations that want to do things well. The company behind it continues to grow thoughtfully and the platform is evolving in ways that make life easier for both your team and ours.

The official Craft CMS Annual Conference was held in Lisbon, Portugal this year and they shared their roadmap for what's next.

Here's what matters for you and your website.

Craft 6

Craft 6 is on the horizon for late 2026 and standout features align with how real teams actually work.

Content releases will allow your team to prepare updates across multiple pages and publish them all at once, which is perfect for coordinated launches or seasonal changes.

Built-in approval workflows will let you add editorial sign-off when you need it, with a clear record of who changed what and when. More control, less chaos.

The technical foundation is shifting to a more widely-used framework allowing for better long-term support and easier maintenance by more developers.

What this means for your current site

If you're on Craft 5, you're in good shape. Craft 5 will receive security updates for at least another five years. This gives us plenty of runway to plan for timely future upgrades.

Meanwhile, Craft 5 keeps getting better. Upcoming improvements will make the admin interface more intuitive, including the ability to organise content sections in ways that actually make sense for how your team works.

The future with Craft is bright

The Craft team is growing in numbers and across time zones. If their dedicated support staff aren’t in your time zone then they’re pretty close.

They have a growing focus on accessibility, building features into Craft CMS that reflect WCAG 2.2 compliance standards. Important for inclusivity and for staying ahead of tightening European accessibility regulations. Thank you Europe for setting the standard!
